Inspired by the mosaic patterns of light and shadow reflected on installations, and the process of transforming the invisible into the visible.
I designed and crafted these textiles using Bond-able fibers, an embroidery machine, and an ultrasonic bonding machine.
[ Designed for a Lingerie Contest "Mosaic Vision" sponsored by Underfashion Club ]
Angelina fibers* are utilized for all of the pieces (bra, garter, panties, and coverup). By placing sequins in multiple colors of Angelina, the fibers have become iridescent fabric that captures and resembles mosaic pieces of light.
Angelina fiber*: Light reflective as well as light refractive. Angelina is a very fine. incredibly luminescent fiber while (unlike metallic) it has an extremely soft hand.Bond-able Angelina will bond to itself and become polyester fabric. that is washable, dryable, and dry-cleanable
In order to evoke the idea of "assembling fragments" and "fragility" of mosaic, the bra has a small gore, and the garter pantie is also made of multiple small pieces. Both the bra and pantie have narrow straps. The strap of the bra creates a triangle mosaic motif on the back.
